Our Grains
Corn
Corn, also known as maize, is a cereal grain that belongs to the grass family Poaceae. It is one of the most widely cultivated and important food crops in the world. Corn has been a staple food in many cultures for thousands of years and is used for various purposes, including human consumption, animal feed, and industrial applications. Corn plants are large, usually reaching heights of 6 to 10 feet (1.8 to 3 meters) or more. They have long, flat leaves and produce ears containing rows of kernels.
Millet
Millet is a gluten-free grain and is rich in nutrients such as iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and fiber. It has gained popularity in recent years as a nutritious alternative to traditional grains, particularly for individuals with gluten sensitivities. Millet can be used in various culinary applications, including porridges, flatbreads, pilafs, and as an ingredient in gluten-free flour blends. These grains have been important food sources in various parts of the world for thousands of years.
